January 25, 2007-Richard Adelson, MD, FACC, FSCAI Medical Director of Shore Heart Group announced today that Michael Aaron, DO, FACC, FASNC, has been named "Fellow of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology." Dr. Aaron is Director of Nuclear Cardiology at Shore Heart Group.

Nuclear Cardiology uses imaging tests that introduce tiny amounts of radioactive materials, called tracers, into the body to emit energy used by cameras to take very clear pictures of the heart. It is a sophisticated, complex subspecialty requiring knowledge of physics, gamma camera and computer instrumentation, image processing, and pharmacologic and exercise stress testing, and an understanding of the constantly expanding clinical options for the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.

Dr. Aaron's credits include fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease with special interests in Preventive Cardiology and Transesophageal Echocardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and a Diplomate of the Certification Council of Nuclear Cardiology.
